The Kent House

Eager to sell his long time home in Kentfield for top dollar, our client reached out to us to restore the home to it’s original cottage charm. Featuring 3 beds / 3 baths, and 1,519 sq. ft. + detached studio, we coordinated a list of home improvements to maximize the value of the sale.

The home was in decent condition, but showed clear signs of wear with outdated hardware, stained carpets and dark living spaces. We immediately envisioned updating the property to brighten the space and make it a more functional living space for a growing family. To refresh the space we recommended painting, landscaping, new carpeting and staging to make the home really shine in photos and online. Within seven days of going on the market we received 4 strong offers and closed escrow at $1,385,000 - 10% over asking.

The Kitchen

Objective: Make a small kitchen feel newer and bigger

Dark cabinets only made the small kitchen feel smaller. By painting the cabinets white and upgrading the appliances we were able to make the kitchen look and feel bigger.

The Studio

Objective: Turn an unfinished storage space into usable square footage

While we don’t have a before pic of the interior of this space, trust us when we tell you it was packed to brim with holiday decor, luggage, kayaks and miscellaneous personal items. By dry-walling, carpeting and painting the interior, we were able to turn the detached studio into a usable space to add value to the home.

The Million Dollar Question...

After we prep a home we always ask ourselves, do we think we would have seen the same results if the home was in its original condition? We'll let you be the judge.
